Posted on 04:53 by Unknown

Stanbic IBTC Bank, a subsidiary of  Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc, has introduced the Stanbic IBTC MobileMoney App for Smartphones running on BlackBerry, iOS and Android operating systems.
To benefit from the service, customers with mobile phones that operate on BlackBerry OS are required to download and install the Stanbic MobileMoney App from the BlackBerry App World platform. Users of iPhones can download the app, which is also compatible with iPad and iPod Touch, from Apple’s App Store, while users of Android-powered phones can get the app from Google’s Play Store.
Stanbic IBTC’s MobileMoney app has also been linked to its Internet Banking service, enabling customers to access a host of Internet Banking services through their smartphones. The channel supports a wide array of financial transactions such as funds’ transfer both within and outside the bank’s portal, bills payment and foreign exchange transfers to banks within and outside Nigeria, among others.
A statement released by the bank on the new development stated that the MobileMoney App operates on a user-friendly platform that offers users a convenient way to carry out transactions from the comfort of their mobile devices.
“With the Smartphone app, customers can enjoy MobileMoney services such as airtime purchase, funds transfer to all bank accounts, bills payment, money transfer to mobile phone subscribers, and much more. The application is free and available for download to both customers and non-customers of the bank, including individuals who do not own a bank account,” it reads.
Executive Director, Personal and Business Banking, Stanbic IBTC, Obinnia Abajue, said the introduction of the mobile application is another step towards leveraging evolving technologies to bring affordable financial services closer to Nigerians, in line with the bank’s financial inclusion initiative.
“When we launched Stanbic IBTC MobileMoney, we set out to deliver a service that can make a big difference in the lives of Nigerians by providing them with a fast and convenient means of sending and receiving money. Today, we are delighted that we have been able to deliver an app that supports the service by providing users with an instant suite of financial options on their mobile devices in a convenient and highly secure environment, and we plan to keep building on that,” he said.
With the launch of Stanbic IBTC MobileMoney, the bank hope to deliver long-term benefits for both its customers and the Nigerian economy, Abajue said.
Relatively, Stanbic IBTC Bank’s Head of Mobile Banking, Yinka Shorungbe said: “We are continuously looking for ways to bring new and innovative products and services to our customers. Our customers are increasingly desirous of having access to financial services when and where they want it. So we have now given them a new service that meets that demand. As their needs evolve, so will the services and products that we offer them,” he stated.
